Is Collaboration the Next Big “Thing?”
Right now, our feeds overflow with perspectives and applications around Gen AI. Remember the overwhelming hype around the metaverse just a year or so ago? My media feed feels a lot like that right now. Lots of hype. Of course, Gen AI presents opportunities that the metaverse never did—it’s accessible to the average person. And it is neat.
At the same time, technology (AI and otherwise) doesn’t seem to reduce the gulf that has opened between different human ideologies. In fact, it will make it larger. So, what to do. Do we throw our hands up in the air and wait for whatever comes next or do we get out there and do something.
That’s exactly what Leigh Wright has in mind. Leigh has been a social activist and entrepreneur most of his life, so his perspective on this isn’t radical to him. But it might be to us. We’ve become corporatized, adjusting our thoughts and ideas to fit into little boxes that all look the same. Thanks to Louise Mowbray for pointing out the song written by social activist Malvina Reynolds who wrote songs as social commentary—definitely worth a deeper dive.
Recently, I interviewed Leigh to learn more about his mission to create collaborative communities everywhere. In fact, Leigh believes this one word—collaboration—could eventually transform all our systems. The way we learn, work and live could shift as people come together instead of divide based on our differences.
